Who am I?

I’m Ben Hall, a 22 year old football coach with a First Class Sports Coaching degree from Leeds Beckett University. I am currently a foundation phase coach for Cambridge United’s Elite Centre while studying for my Master’s degree in sports coaching. In addition, I also have 3 years analysis experience including a year as a 1st Team performance analyst with Barnsley FC in the EFL Championship last season.

What are my interests?

I am interested in possession-orientated ‘positional play’ styles of football. This style of football is what my team & coach analysis articles will focus on. I am not just interested in how these teams play on the pitch. I am fascinated by how these coaches get their players & teams to play they way they do, from training sessions to tactical concepts to game plans.

The theoretical side of coaching is also a passion of mine. Coaching Pedagogy and Methodologies like Games-Based approaches and Tactical Periodization for example.

What do I write about?

I will be writing about four main subjects. Team & Coach analysis pieces, Coaching Pedagogy & Methodology, Session Design as well as Detailed Formation’s Analysis.
